What is Full Spectrum CBD oil?

Full Spectrum CBD oil is a product derived from the hemp plant that contains a wide variety of cannabinoids and other natural compounds found in the cannabis plant, including CBD (cannabidiol), THC (tetrahydrocannabinol), CBG (cannabigerol), CBN (cannabinol), terpenes, flavonoids and other phytonutrients.

Unlike isolated CBD oil, which contains only CBD, Full Spectrum CBD oil offers a complete consumption experience that harnesses the benefits of multiple cannabinoids and other natural compounds that work together to enhance the effects of CBD. This is known as the “entourage effect” or “entourage effect“.

THC percentage in Full Spectrum CBD oil

Full Spectrum CBD oil may have a small amount of THC (less than 0.3% in the US and less than 1% in Europe) which is insufficient to produce psychoactive effects but can help increase the effectiveness of CBD and other cannabinoids in the body.

What is Full Spectrum oil used for?

Full Spectrum CBD oil has traditionally been used to treat a variety of health conditions, although more scientific research is needed to confirm its benefits. Some of the most common uses of Full Spectrum CBD oil include:

  • Pain relief: The CBD and other cannabinoids in Full Spectrum CBD oil can help relieve pain by interacting with pain receptors in the brain and nervous system.
  • Anxiety and stress reduction: CBD can help reduce anxiety and stress levels by enhancing GABA neurotransmitter signalling in the brain.
  • Improved sleep: CBD can help improve sleep quality by reducing anxiety and pain, and improving relaxation.
  • Reducing inflammation: The cannabinoids and terpenes in Full Spectrum CBD oil may help reduce inflammation in the body by interacting with the endocannabinoid system.
  • Immune system support: The cannabinoids and other natural compounds in Full Spectrum CBD oil can help strengthen the immune system by interacting with cannabinoid receptors in the body.

Cautions to bear in mind:

It is important to note that Full Spectrum CBD oil is not a medicine, and may not be suitable for everyone, and is not intended to diagnose, treat, cure or prevent any disease.

It is always advisable to talk to a doctor before starting any new supplement or treatment for your health. Some precautions are:

  • Talk to your doctor: Before you start using Full spectrum CBD oil, it is important to talk to your doctor. This is especially important if you are taking other medications, as CBD oil may interact with some of them.
  • Buy from a reliable source: Make sure you buy Full spectrum CBD oil from a reliable and verified source. The CBD industry is not regulated in all countries, so it is important to do your research and buy from a manufacturer with a solid reputation.
  • Start with a low dose: If you are new to using CBD oil, start with a low dose and increase slowly if necessary. This will help you assess how your body reacts to CBD and adjust the dosage as needed.
  • Proper storage: Store Full spectrum CBD oil in a cool, dry place away from direct sunlight. This will help preserve the quality of the oil and prolong its shelf life.
  • Side effects: Although the side effects of Full spectrum CBD oil are generally mild, it is important to be aware of them. Some possible side effects include drowsiness, fatigue, dry mouth and dizziness. If you experience any side effects, discontinue use of CBD oil and talk to your doctor.
  • Recommended dose: leave the drops in the mouth for 30 seconds for proper absorption.  It is not recommended to drink coffee or tea 10 minutes before or after taking the oil.
