In this blog post, we want to remind what CBG is, and specifically, we will focus on CBG oil, its benefits, and its effects, as well as describe how we make it and where you can find it.

What is CBG?

CBG is one of the least studied cannabinoids due to its low presence in the cannabis plant (around 1%), it does not have a psychoactive or psychotropic effect. And, in general, it is also non-toxic and has no side effects on our bodies.

As with CBD, CBG is being a new revolution in the therapeutic use of cannabis. Moreover, some of its medicinal properties, all of them non-psychoactive, are already known. For example, its anti-inflammatory power or its pain-relieving effects. To learn more about these cannabinoids and about our project to treat lung diseases click on this link.

CBGA, the intermediate compound:

Cannabigerol (CBG) is the first cannabinoid to appear in the plant, and therefore all other cannabinoids are derived from it. However, there is an intermediate compound that we have not discussed: CBGA or cannabigerol acid.

CBGA is the acid form of this cannabinoid rather than a type of CBG. And this, together with the synthases (the enzymes found in the plant), is the precursor that will allow us to synthesize the rest of the cannabinoids.

CBGA is known as the “mother cannabinoid” because, without it, cannabinoids such as CBD, CBC, or THC would not exist. In fact, without CBGA, all other cannabinoids would not live.

What is CBG oil?

CBG oil is a completely natural oil that can be found in the cannabis plant. CBG oil contains not only high content of cannabidiol but an even higher dose of cannabigerol.

It has been found that when CBD and CBG are combined, they reinforce each other. Due to the interaction that occurs between these cannabinoids, results can be achieved that would not be possible on their own. The better the CBD/CBG dosage ratio, the more effective this combination will be.

Entourage effect

There is an entourage effect between the different cannabinoids and terpenes, which act in synergy to produce a specific psychoactive or therapeutic effect. This means that THC, CBD, and CBG can strengthen or weaken each other’s properties. For example, CBD can decrease the psychoactive effect of THC and CBG enhances the effect of CBD.

Benefits of CBG oil:

  • CBG oil acts as a buffer for the psychoactivity of THC. In other words, it reduces the psychotropic effect. In general, CBG is found in cannabis plants that contain a lot of CBD and very little THC.
  • CBG oil helps to relieve stress.
  • It has relaxing effects, perfect for combating fatigue and promoting well-being without unwanted side effects.
  • CBG oil helps to relieve pain and nausea.
  • It is completely organic and natural.
  • It is packaged in opaque glass bottles to provide protection against oxidation and light sources. The bottles come with a dropper for ease of use.
  • CBG oil is antibacterial
  • CBG oil is suitable for people with high eye pressure and helps to close wounds.

How is CBG oil made?

At Bluecanoby we have our laboratory in Neuhausen am Rheinfall, Switzerland, where we manufacture various products including CBG oil.

Our process is selected and developed by laboratory specialists who use an advanced, cryo pentane extraction method to isolate essential compounds.

In the extraction process, we use a turbine with liquid pentane, which is gas-cooled with machines to -20 degrees so that the liquid gas (the solvent with less residue) remains.

We then manufacture the raw extract and clean everything in a wiped film (vaporizer) until we obtain the golden-colored oil. This whole process is subjected to a filtration and cleaning process to produce our CBG oil with unequaled quality.

CBG oil consumption

CBG oil is consumed in the same way as traditional cannabinoid oils, on or under the tongue.

Sublingual (under the tongue) administration provides a rapid onset of effects because the active ingredients do not have to pass through the digestive tract. By sublingual administration, CBG oil quickly enters the bloodstream through tiny capillaries.

At Bluecanoby we manufacture and sell full spectrum CBG oil with 15% CBG and 3% CBC.
